Growing sprouts
Sprouting is a simple process that allows for the growth of seeds into sprouts. It’s a great way to enjoy fresh vegetables without having to cook them first.

Here’s how to grow sprouts at home.
To start growing them, simply place the seeds inside a jar with enough water to cover the seeds by 1/2 inch. Cover the jar with cheesecloth or other breathable material and let sit overnight. In the morning, drain off the water and rinse the seeds thoroughly. Replace the water and repeat the process every day until they reach the desired size.

Start with seeds.
You can use any type of seed for sprouting. Just make sure to choose one that will germinate quickly. If you buy organic seeds, you’ll need to soak them first.

Grow them in water.
To start growing sprouts, place the seeds in a jar with enough water to cover them by 1/2 inch. Cover the jar with plastic wrap and let sit at room temperature for 12 to 24 hours. Drain off the water and replace with fresh water every day until they appear.

Rinse them before eating.
Once the they begin to form, rinse them under cold running water to remove any dirt or debris. Then drain well and pat dry with paper towels. You can eat them raw or cook them as you would other vegetables.

Add salt.
Lastly, salt helps preserve food by drawing out moisture. It’s also good for flavor. They are naturally salty, so adding some salt will help keep them fresh longer.
