The Health Benefits:
A great source of probiotics, which are live bacteria that are essential for gut health. Probiotics promote a healthy digestive system, help you absorb nutrients better and boost your immune system. Coconut yoghurt is also a good source of healthy fats, which are essential for brain health and can promote weight loss. Additionally, they are rich in vitamins C, E and B12, which are all important for maintaining good health.

How to Make at Home:
Making your own at home is actually really easy! All you need is a can of full fat coconut milk, a probiotic capsule and a little bit of time. Simply open the probiotic capsule and mix the contents into the coconut milk. Pour the mixture into a jar or container and leave it in a warm place for 24-48 hours to allow the fermentation process to occur. Once it has thickened, simply store it in the fridge where it will keep for up to 2 weeks.

Fun Facts:

Was actually first created by accident! In the 1970s, scientists were trying to create a dairy-free yogurt alternative using soybeans but they accidentally created a fermented coconut milk product instead.
Coconut yoghurt has more probiotics than dairy yogurt because it goes through a longer fermentation process.
Most commercial brands of coconut yoghurt use thickeners like carrageenan or tapioca starch to give it a thicker consistency but these ingredients can be harmful to your gut health. That’s why we recommend making your own coconut yoghurt at home using full fat coconut milk and a probiotic capsule!
Coconut yoghurt can be used in sweet or savory dishes – it’s versatile and delicious! Try it in smoothies, on top of oatmeal or as a replacement for mayo or sour cream in dips or salad dressings.
