Green Peppercorn

Green peppercorn refers to the unripe berries of the Piper nigrum plant. The berries are harvested when they turn red and are then dried in the sun before being processed into powder form. They are a spice since ancient times. They are also known as black pepper.

The flavor of green peppercorns is milder than that of red or white peppercorns.
You can use green peppercorns in any recipe where you would normally use black pepper. However, there are some dishes that call for only one type of pepper. If you plan to make a dish with both green and black peppers, you should mix them together.
