Pesto means pestâ in Italian, so this recipe is called homemade pesto made with basil, garlic, pine nuts, olive oil, and Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients.

Basil, garlic, pine nuts (or walnuts), olive oil, and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese.

Directions.

Combine these ingredients in a food processor and pulse until smooth. Additionally, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Tips.

Make sure to use fresh garlic cloves when making pesto. If you’re using dried herbs, make sure to rehydrate them first by soaking them in hot water for 15 minutes before adding them to the food processor.

Garlic – 1 clove Basil

2 cups Parmesan cheese

3/4 cup Olive oil

1/2 cup Salt & pepper – to taste

Directions

Finally, preheat oven to 176 degrees C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Slice garlic cloves into thin slices. Place garlic slices on prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool. In a food processor combine basil, parmesan cheese, olive oil, salt and pepper. in brief, pulse until combined. Add roasted garlic and pulse again. Transfer mixture to a bowl and serve immediately or refrigerate up to one week.
